Find the Light

Jesus referred to himself and his followers as the light of the world...

In Matthew 5:14-16 He said, "You are the light of the world..." In John 8:12 He said, "I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."  There is enough commentary on this concept to write pages and never scratch the surface. (Isaiah 9:2; Psalm 27:1; ; Luke 2:30-32; John 1:9; Philippians 2:15 are just a few of the many places the bible discusses the "light of the world".)  Charles Swindoll summed it up this way- "You are a light in the darkness-a servant of God who is being watched, who gives off light...a very distinct message with hardly a word being said."  In other words, followers of Christ are a reflection of the light of the world to the world.  We are called to demonstrate the love of Jesus and in doing so "shine the light".  So, when we say we want to help you find the light we mean that we want to reflect the light of Jesus and we want to guide you to your own relationship with the source of the light.  Followers of Jesus have a responsibility to shine light that guides seekers and new believers in the same way lighthouses shine light to help boats navigate dangerous areas on the sea.  We believe that scripture is the infallible word of God therefore always recommend seeking to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus through studying the Word (2 Peter 3:18). We also want to help you learn to hear the subtle "whispers" that are all around us every day. Learning to hear those whispers will help you find God and find life...
